Out on the Farm

Grady gets to go to Grammi and Grandpa's 2 days a week while mommy goes to work. He has always loved being outside, and at their house it is no different. He actually spends most of the day in the back with the animals and if he's not out there he wants to be. A few months ago Grammi started taking Grady on trail rides with her on the family (trusted) horse Justin. Grady absolutely loved it from the very beginning. In fact he got into the habit of waking up from his nap, grabbing his helmet, and saying "ride." So About 2 weeks ago Grammi pulled out Grady's first saddle and put him up there all by himself. I am actually so impressed with 1. his fearless nature and 2. his ability to stay balanced all on his own. Grammi is of course right there leading Justin in case something were to happen but Grady couldn't be happier to be riding Justin by all by himself. Here are some pictures :)

It's been awhile but I thought I'd update and maybe catch up later. The big news in our family for now is that we are expecting our 2nd baby boy in April. We are so grateful that God has blessed us with another baby and our family is growing. So far my pregnancy has been pretty easy. I haven't been tired or sick at all. Thank you God! Grady will point to my belly and say baby, but we're not quite sure he completely understands how his life is about to change ;) I'll post growing belly and baby picks soon!

That's right! We are starting him young! However, I am quite convinced that somehow Grady already has baseball running through his genes... He will take his little bat (a.k.a. bam bam as we call it) everywhere with him! It is his favorite toy! I asked Buddy if he thought it was normal for a 1 year old to be so entertained with just a bat? Now, you could view this two ways... 1. Wow! That's great! Super easy kid to entertain! or 2. He hits everything in sight with his bam bam and laughs! We are working on the latter and currently trying to teach him only to hit balls! This comes after he hit mommy and gave her a bloody fat lip! Don't worry I recovered quickly, but it may be time for him to learn a little lesson. ;) Hitting people and all objects besides balls aside, we are very proud and amazed by our little guy's young talent! Here is a video... He actually hit the ball better the first time but of course we didn't have the video camera out then. :)

10 Months!

Surprise! Surprise! I'm doing our 10 month post late again... It seems as though there is never enough time. Which I'm sure all you mama's out there understand! Our little Grady is now 11 months old but let me give you the 10 month update first! 10 months was full of change for Grady...

- He got his first tooth (on the top front)

-Followed by another (on the top front) and 1 (on the bottom front)

-Started crawling

-Loves to talk (mostly babbling but it's cute!)

-Waves Hi and Bye all of the time!

-Is always playing with his tongue, we think it helps him concentrate while he's walking ;)

-Pretty much refuses baby food (anything pureed) and is doing a great job with table food!

-Some of his favorites are chicken, broccoli, peas, strawberries, blueberries, yogurt & cheese

-Is now WALKING!

Grady was sick for all of February! It was so hard on him and us! It wasn't a bad cold that required hospitalization or anything, but it was lots of congestion, that led to an ear infection, which led to many nights with lots of waking up! I felt like we had finally got into a good routine with our little guy sleeping and mommy and daddy were definitely enjoying it! Needless to say February was hard on us too! Then once Grady started to get over his cold, he popped in 3 new teeth which had him waking up throughout the night all over again! Our poor guy was still pretty happy regardless of the circumstances. He is now fully recovered, and I told Buddy I am loving seeing him feeling like his old self! It is so funny to see how mobile he is and how much he has changed in 1 MONTH! We can't leave our doors open because he will crawl or walk right outside! If he has a choice that is where he wants to be! He also loves to go in Buddy's "man room" and play our Guitar Hero drum set. We think this is because he loves watching the drummer at church on Sundays. Another month down and I continue to be amazed at the growth of our little guy! It truly is God's miracle to watch this little blessing learn new things everyday!

6,7,8... & 9

Yup that's right! Our little man is NINE months old! Wow! I skipped a few monthly posts up until now so I thought I'd take some time to catch y'all up! Grady now weighs 22.8 pounds and is 30 inches long. That puts him in the 75th percentile for weight... he must be slimming down a little with ALL that movement! ;) and the 90th percentile for height. At his 9 month check up Dr. Akey was most impressed with his social skills! Grady was having so much fun with both the nurse and Dr. Akey and they could not believe what a happy outgoing little guy he is. This was especially surprising because we discovered that he had a double ear infection and his first tooth is about to poke through. Grady has been working hard on those baby milestones...

-He is sitting very well

-Pulls himself up on toys and the couch

-Stands alone for about 5 to 10 seconds

-Walks while holding onto the couch or Mommy and Daddy's hands

-Gets in the crawling position and will start to go but hasn't quite taken off yet

-Loves to give BIG open mouth kisses!

-Is starting to climb out of his (sink) bathtub... time for the big one I guess

-Will eat a variety of foods but seems to like fruits and yogurt more than vegetables :/

-Says in a way that Mom and Dad can understand... "Dada" "Hi Dad" "Hi" and something that sounds like he's yelling for "Layla" (our dog), with an occassional "Mama" on accident :/ (but I know he loves me!)

-Loves getting attention from anybody and will smile or say "hi" and waves his hands to get it!

Grady goes to our preschool on campus and I love having him right next to me while I'm teaching! They do crafts all the time (So I get the best keepsakes!), sing songs, play, go on buggie rides, and I love that he gets to interact with other little kiddos! The other day I got the best compliment... The teacher said he just seems to be full of JOY with such a happy spirit! I loved hearing that... makes me feel like God's love is shining through him, and I hope that he will continue to share those smiles and brighten people's day with it!

Fall is flying by and well, I guess it's pretty much over! We have been super busy and I have not been keeping up with the blogging world. I though I'd just do a post to catch y'all up on us over the past few months...

Grady was a cow for Halloween!

We went to the Orange Circle for "Treats In the Streets" with some of our friends.

We went to Arizona for to visit my brother and watch Buddy play in a baseball tournament.

Not to relive the glory days or anything but... today we found out that Buddy was named to the division 3 All Decade team for his pitching performance at Chapman while he was there. It's always nice to be recognized and it reminded me that yes he is quite a stud! :) Here is a quote from the article...

ORANGE, Calif. – Four Chapman University baseball alumni have been named to the first-ever All-Decade team selected by D3Baseball.com. In addition, Panthers’ skipper Tom Tereschuck, who guided Chapman to six championships appearances in seven years and a national title in 2003, was named as the second team head coach.

As Chapman’s ace pitcher in 2005 and ’06, Klovstad lost just one game. He was 28-3 in four years pitching for the Panthers with a 2.18 ERA. A consummate workhorse, the right-hander set a school record for innings pitched (272.1) and tossed eight complete games. He was briefly the school record-holder in career victories until Drag won 30. Klovstad was Chapman’s first Division III pitcher to earn All-America honors twice in his career.

The other night we were at my parent's house and Grady was getting ready for bed. My mom pulled out the books and my dad started reading to our little guy. Grady loves books and tries to grab the pages when we read to him. They were having the best time and I couldn't help but snap a few photos!

I was walking down the hall at school the other day and passed by a bulletin board next to the baby room. I noticed it was newly decorated with cute little hand print candy corn and then I saw Grady's! I had no idea he had made his first art project! I was so proud and thought it was just perfect so I had to take a picture!

*Some background on his tongue sticking out... When my brother was little he couldn't do anything without sticking his tongue out. Well, just last week Grady started sticking his tongue out too. When I went to take a picture he stuck his tongue out every time! So cute! I love that he has some family traits! :)

Our little G-man is 5 months! I am so amazed by how quickly he has changed from a

"newborn baby" to what seems like a little boy with such a definite personality already. We are enjoying this new stage with our little guy so much! We love his happy, outgoing personality! He seems to be a "people person" because he is always full of smiles when we go out in large groups or people talk to him. At his doctors appointment this month he weighed 20.6 pounds and was 27 1/2 inches long. He is still in the 100th percentile for weight and 97th percentile for height. Big boy! This month Grady...

-Started eating baby food. So far he has tried carrots, sweet potatoes, pears, bananas, squash, and apple sauce. I have really been enjoying making his baby food. His favorite so far seems to be sweet potatoes and apple sauce. :)

-Rolls over more frequently and occasionally pushes off the ground with his feet.

-Has a big personality coming out! He can be loud and full of smiles when he's happy. As well as loud and impatient when he's mad. He seems to know what he wants and he wants it now!

-Started pre-school. I went back to teaching so Grady is now going to my school with me. He loves the ladies in the baby room and all of the other babies. They always say he smiles all the time!

-Grady's favorite thing to do at school is go on buggy rides!

-Found his feet! That means he is always reaching for them and occasionally has them in his mouth :/

-Seems to be "digging" for his teeth. He is always drooling and puts everything in his mouth!

-Is almost sitting up on his own. He will sit but usually falls down after a few minutes.

-Loves to stand when we are holding him!

-Is sitting in a high chair.

We love his huge smile and happy feet!

This summer we were able to go to a few concerts in the park. We never went last summer, but always heard they were a nice way to spend a summer night! So this summer we decided to try it out! We even walked there a few times because it is pretty close to our house and Grady loves going on walks!

Family trip to Havasu!

A few weekends ago Buddy and I took Grady to Havasu with Justin, Ashlie, baby Jack, and Grammy and Grampy! It was so fun to be in Havasu and do some floating! Going to the river with Grady is definitely a different experience than we are used to but it was fun to introduce him to new things and watch his reaction. He seemed to enjoy the water and the movement of the boat. He got fussy when we would put his life vest on, but then quickly fell asleep each time the boat started moving. I love being on vacation with our little family, and look forward to many more times in Havasu with Grady! I can already tell he is going to be an active little guy and will probably keep us on our toes at the river in the future!

Our Grady boy is 4 months old now. At his 4 month check up last week he weighed 19.6 pounds (still 100th percentile) and was 27 inches long (95th percentile). The doctor was very impressed with his expression while we were in the office and says he is one happy baby! He also gave us the go ahead to start rice cereal. This month Grady...

-Likes to play on his mat and reach for his toys.

-Likes his Baby Einstein.

-Still seems to be happiest outdoors.

-Loves going on walks.

-Is doing really well gobbling down rice cereal.

-Likes to smile and be around other children.

-Is laughing and still loves Peek-A-Boo!

-Gets big smiles when he sees Mama, Dada or his doggy Layla walking toward him.

Grandmother's 90th

On Sunday we got to celebrate my Grandma turning 90! She is such a healthy and lively woman! I am so proud of her for being so independent and strong at the age of 90. Last weekend we spent lots of time with the "Holmes" side of the family celebrating Gradnmother's 90th birthday! The weekend started with cousin Jimmy, Miranda, & DJ flying in from North Carolina and we all went to the Angel game. There were 31 of us tailgating and enjoying the game together. The Angels even won that night! After the game we stayed for BIG BANG FRIDAY and Grady got to enjoy some fireworks. He was sleeping when they started but started peeking about half way through. The noise didn't seem to bother him at all, and he was fascinated by all of the bright lights! It's so fun to watch Grady experience new things!

During the All Star festivities Buddy and I took Grady along with our parents to Fan Fest at the Anaheim Convention Center. It was fun to see all of the baseball memorabilia and participate in the activities! Grady even got his first pair of cleats from Grandma!

Grady is 3 months old and the time is flying by! Grady is growing and changing so much by the day! At his 3 month check up Grady weighed 18.8 pounds and was 26 inches long. That puts him in the 100% for weight and 97% for height. He is still having only mama's milk, so even though he's a big boy the doctor said he's doing great! Some of the things he's doing now are...

-rolling from his back to his tummy.

-chewing on his hands constantly, which brings lots of drool!

-grabbing his feet.

-he loves to play "Peek-A-Boo" (We cover him with his blanket and say, "Where's Grady?!" and he starts laughing.)

-likes to go on walks and be outside.

-loves to splash at bath time!

-likes when we sing songs to him.

Last weekend Buddy and I took Grady to the river for the first time to celebrate the 4th of July. We went with my cousins ad enjoyed playing games and hanging out by the water. The weather was great and it was so nice to stay in one place for the whole weekend! Grady did very well! I had no idea what to expect or how he would react to the heat but he was pretty happy! He even took longer naps during the day which left us some time to float. Grady also accomplished a BIG milestone while we were there by rolling from his back to his stomach!!! I was so proud, I can only imagine what it will feel like as he continues to learn and explore the world around him. Here are some pictures :)

Grady is 2 months (I'm a little late) and growing like a weed! At his 2 month check up he weighed 15.2 pounds and was 24 inches long! That translates into he is a very big and healthy boy for his age! This month Grady...

-Is full of smiles and just started laughing.

-Loves to lay on his back and move his arms and legs like crazy!

-Is now sleeping in his crib and liking it much better than the bassinet.

-Is very good at holding his head up.

-Still likes to lay outside on the grass in the afternoons.

-Seems to enjoy watching all of the Laker playoff games, and of course baseball games too!

-Still loves bath time!

-His new favorite thing to look at are ceiling fans!

-Does not seem to like car rides so much...

Tis the season for baseball in our family! Since Daddy is the pitching coach at our old high school, Grady came into this world and has been attending baseball games ever since! Is that called trying to brain wash him? Good thing he seems to enjoy being outside so going to baseball games in sunny CA is a great outing for us! The past few weeks have been very exciting in particular because Daddy's team won league and their first CIF game! Grady also got to go to his first and second Angel's game. For the first one he slept the whole time, and at the second one he did a little napping followed by some eating and exploring. :) He was a very good boy and the noise didn't seem to bother him.

Grady is 1 month old now and I finally understand what people mean when they say kids grow up fast! He is doing great in so many ways...

-He LOVES to eat, and never misses a meal!

-He is very awake for his age.

-His favorite thing to look at are the white blinds on the windows.

-He just started making cooing sounds, and mommy loves them.

-He folds his hands while he eats.

-He seems to enjoy being outside whether it's at a baseball game or going on walks.

-He loves bath time and will stay in the warm water as long as we let him!

-He does a good job of sleeping and waking up only 1 time to eat in the middle of the night for mommy and daddy!

We are so in love with our little boy, and are reminding ourselves to enjoy every stage of watching him grow!

Hi there! Just wanted to post a baby Grady update. When Grady was born he weighed 8 pounds 10 ounces and was 20 inches long. When we left the hospital he weighed 8 pounds 2 ounces. The doctor said it was normal for babies to lose weight after birth and that by the time of his 2 week check up he was hoping for him to be back at his birth weight. Well, we took Grady for his 2 week check up and he weighed in at 9 pounds 5 ounces and was 22 inches long. I felt so proud of my little boy for growing so much! Here are some pictures from his appointment.

Sorry it took me a while to update! Grady is finally here, and although we are a little sleepy we couldn't be happier with this little blessing from God.

After going 40 weeks and 5 days... the doctor gave me the option of being induced and I didn't hesitate to say yes! Grady was pretty comfy in there and although I was dilating and about 70 to 80 percent effaced he was not coming down yet, and probably would have gone at least another week. So on Friday morning, April 2nd we went in at 5am to start labor! They started me on pitocin at 7am, and I started having mild contractions that were 1 to 2 minutes apart. Then, Dr.Linzey came in to break my water at 10am. Right away my contractions came on pretty strong, but I wanted to see how long I could last without getting the epidural. At about 10:45 the nurse came in and said she had ordered my epidural because the doctor was going to be in a c-section so if I didn't get it now I would have to wait about 2 hours. I did not argue with her and gladly took the epidural. :) From there on, until I had to push, I didn't feel much. Then, around 5:30pm the doctor came in to check and said it was time to start pushing. I got excited thinking I would continue not to feel very much and soon Grady would be here. After pushing for an hour and a half, my epidural wore off and I was feeling everything! At that point Grady seemed to be stuck (due to his large head) and the doctor pulled out the suction. It worked and Grady came out with four sets of pushes, and a pretty big bruise on his head. It was the biggest relief and best feeling to know that he was finally here and everything was ok. Buddy was an AMAZING support the whole day! I could not have asked for anything more from him, and seeing his smile when Grady came out made everything perfect!

During the labor and delivery we were very blessed to have friends and family in the waiting room. My mom, cousin Cheryl, and Buddy's mom were able to join us in the room for the delivery. It was very nice to share such an amazing experience with Grady's Grandma's!

Busy, busy, busy...

Hi there! As you can guess we have been super busy lately so I have not been keeping up with the blogging world. January was a great month! It started off with the arrival of baby Sophia. She is the daughter of our good friends Jeff and Amy, and Grady's future little girl friend. Then, Buddy turned 26. We had a birthday brunch for him with family and friends. Many of our favorite people were able to join us to celebrate and we had a great time!

January also started the first of our baby showers to get ready for our sweet baby boy. Some of our friends from high school got together and gave us many fun things to help welcome baby Grady. Katie was a wonderful host and I felt truly blessed to spend time with them and prepare to be a mommy.

The following weekend Buddy played in his Chapman Alumni baseball game. It was fun to see all of the guys and catch up with the "wives", oh, and of course watch baseball ;). The next day we had a "Poo Party" barbeque. We had a bbq and invited many of the boys with their significant others to join us and help us build our collection of much needed diapers! We now have a closet full of diapers and can't imagine how we will use them all, but I'm sure we will!

Redskins vs. Chargers

On Sunday Buddy and I went to the Redskins vs. Chargers football game in San Diego. We had a great time, and were thankful that we got such great seats from our friends Allison and Marc! We went down early Sunday morning for brunch, and then did a little tailgating before the game. It was an exciting game, and the Redskins actually scored a couple of times and almost pulled it off. We are hoping next season will be much better for them! Thanks Mangiaficos! We had a great time!

Hey there! Hope the New Year is treating you well! We are all doing well over here and as you can see my belly is growing like crazy, which means the arrival of our sweet baby Grady is quickly approaching! We are so excited to meet him and be parents! We started working on converting the guest room into a nursery, but I haven't made much progress in relocating my clothes. I hope to move them all out by this weekend so we can get some painting done! Since we already have the furniture I am just itching to get it all set up. I think that is called nesting? Everything is still going well babywise. I feel great and the doctor says everything is on target for our March 28th due date. Please continue to keep us all in prayer!

While I was off last week I had the opportunity to meet my Grandy (Grandma) for lunch. We are like two peas in a pod and can spend hours talking once we get together! Unfortunately, she lives in the mountains, and I have a typically busy schedule so we don't get to meet up as much as we'd like. After a great lunch, and lots of catching up, Grandy took me to order our stroller. She heard about the bugaboo a while back on Rachel Ray and decided that she would like to get one for us! It was so nice and thoughtful of her, and I already love it even though I am still waiting for it to be delivered! I can't wait to push little Grady in it! After spending forever trying to decide on a color (because I am not very decisive) we decided to go for the denim! It should be coming soon... Thank you Grandy!

Good Bye Christmas!

I guess you could say we had an interesting Christmas this year. It started off with me catching my first pregnant cold. Of course this happened while I was away from the 22 sick kids that I have been around for the past month (and managed not to catch any of their colds). To me it did not make sense that I would get sick while having more rest and being in a less germ infested environment. Anyways, it happened, and by Christmas night I felt terrible. So, of course with all the scare of the swine flu I called my doctor on Christmas. He said not to go to the emergency room but to just stay home and get some rest. So I did and felt much better the next day. :)

My dad on the other hand did go to the emergency room on Christmas :( due to a bite on his hand from my parents sweet little kitten. It really is a good cat. He just got scared while my dad was holding him and chose to bite so he could be released. Now what seemed like a little cat bite that you could wash at home became a four day stay in the hospital bc apparently cat bites are a BIG deal... So we are all thankful that things are going to be ok, and realize that they could have been but also glad that this Christmas is over and hoping that next year will be much better! My dad is recovering nicely and should be home tomorrow, but please keep him and my mom in your prayers for a speedy recovery!

With Christmas behind us, we are now focusing on preparation for our growing baby boy. We have decided that his name will be Grady Layton Klovstad. For those of you who don't know Layton is actually Buddy's (real) first name and it is a family tradition for the first son to have his father's name as his middle name. We have all of Grady's furniture and are now working on painting the room so we (Buddy) can put it together. Here is a 6 month picture of my growing belly in front of our Christmas tree.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! We started the holiday with our 2nd annual Friends Thanksgiving. We had our friends Andy and Kellie, and Jeff and Amy come over so we could enjoy yummy food and many laughs together. Kellie is a great cook and thankfully has been able to come early for the past 2 years to help me cook the turkey. I paid close attention this year so I can possibly handle it on my own next year.

On Thanksgiving, we started the day at Buddy's parents for our first meal. While there we got to spend time with Grandpa and Grandma Sargent, Buddy's sister Madison ad her fiance Jason, Buddy's parents of course, some of their neighbors, and my parents and brother also joined us. We even got a quick visit from my Grandy and Del. After spending some time there, we went over to my cousin's house for Thanksgiving dinner #2. Here we got to see most of my dad's side of the family. We had lots of fun and as usual left with many fun memories!

Over the weekend we went out to Riverside to see Buddy's Auntie Jane and Uncle Rick, and spend time with the cousins. They had a great idea to go see the Mission Inn all decorated for Christmas. So we spent some time walking around and enjoying the joyful atmosphere. We are very Thankful for all of the time we got to spend with family and friends during this Thanksgiving holiday!

We're having a BOY!

Yesterday Buddy and I went with the Grandmas to have our anatomy ultrasound. It was really neat to see all of the parts of our little ones body! Almost right away she asked if we were sure we wanted to know, and of course we said "yes!" So, she pointed out the legs and the extra little part in between them showing us that baby Klovstad is a boy! Buddy did a little dance around the room and I shed a few tears of excitement knowing that we were going to be blessed with our little guy! It is so nice to know and start planning, and cut our list of possible names in half as we put the girl ones away for now. The ultrasound tech said that our little boy looked like he was growing right on schedule! Here is a 19 week belly pic and some pics of our little guy! I wore blue with a little pin that said, "It's a boy" to let everyone at school know what we were having.

On Friday Buddy and I went to a great Halloween party with our cousins Cheryl and Dave. Our friends Mike and Jen always host their annual Halloween party and every year it gets better and better! They decorate their whole house floor to ceiling and think of every little detail! Not to mention there is always a costume contest. Unfortunately, the parrot didn't win it for Buddy this year so next year we'll have to think of something great!

A weekend in Arizona...

Last weekend we took a trip to Arizona to visit my brother for family weekend at ASU. We also got to visit Amanda and Ross. They were so sweet to open their guest room to us and give us a place to stay. We had a very fun time catching up with Amanda, and of course seeing my brother. I really enjoyed the little old town feeling that surrounds ASU, and they even beat Washington at the football game!!! Which USC was not able to do. Sorry Amanda, I had to say it for Buddy :) Here are some pics from the game and touring the campus. We miss you Kevin, Amanda, & Ross! Can't wait to see you this weekend too!

4 Months and Growing!

We are now 4 months and counting with our growing little baby Klovstad. So far everything is going pretty well and right on schedule. I am getting used to not feeling 100% like my regular self and know that it will all be more than worth it when we have this beautiful little baby in our arms! Each day I am just amazed as I try to understand what an amazing miracle having a baby truly is. We love our little baby Klovstad and ask you to help us pray for a healthy pregnancy and birth!

Last night Buddy and I went to a beautiful wedding! Eric and Hailey Dole are two of our friends from high school and we are so happy for them! They are a very fun couple to spend time with and we were so happy to be a part of their special day! 365 Days of Marriage! Woo Hoo!

Last weekend Buddy and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary! We spent a lot of time thinking about some of our favorite times together and how blessed we have been throughout this past year. We are so happy to have one another!!!

Buddy started the weekend by cleaning out our garage. I thought the reason was so that as my tummy continues to grow... I will be able to get out of my car more easily. But, I quickly figured out the next day that it was for our new beach cruisers! We talked about getting them awhile ago, and thought they would be something fun to ride down to the Orange Circle with now and even after the baby is born. However, we hadn't talked about it in months so I kind of thought we would just get them another time. So I was totally surprised, and LOVED the pretty pink one with a basket that he picked out for me :)

That night Buddy made reservations at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse and it was yummy!!! While we were at dinner I gave Buddy my gift. I found out that the theme for the one year wedding anniversary is either paper or something that goes with time. So I went with the paper idea (thanks to the Mangiafico's) and got Buddy two tickets to the Redskin's/Charger game on January 3rd in San Diego. Those of you who know Buddy know that he is a HUGE Redskin's fan. So he was very excited too!

On Sunday morning (our actual anniversary) Buddy had a championship baseball game with his Men's League Team. They won and Buddy hit a homerun! Yay! He said he did it for me :) We followed up the game with a small dinner and of course our one year anniversary cake. I got Buddy a cheesecake because that was what he really wanted at our wedding :)

Fun Weekend in Laughlin!

This past weekend Buddy and I went to Laughlin with a couple that has become good friends of ours. Their names are Jeff and Amy. We met at church and truly enjoy spending time with them! Jeff's uncle has a vacation house in Laughlin so we decided to hitch up the boat and spend the weekend there. On Friday, the water was so beautiful! Perfectly smooth and lots of time for relaxing. On Saturday, the wind picked up a little and it got a little choppy, but we still had a great time! We left early Sunday morning in order to make it back in time for Buddy to pitch at his Men's Baseball League finals. They won so they will play again this Sunday, on our anniversary :).

After Buddy's game we met his parents and sister Madison with her fiance Jason for dinner to spend some quality time with his Dad before he left to go to Kosovo for 2 weeks. Bill is currently building a water park there and has been splitting his time between here and there for the past 5 months. It's been a great opportunity, but we are definitely keeping him in our prayers with all his traveling and living in country where nobody speaks his language...

Hi everyone!

We went for our first trimester screen ultrasound today. The ultrasound tech said everything looks normal and right on schedule! I don't think I've ever felt so good to be referred to as normal! That's all I've been praying for as the days got closer to this screen and will continue to be praying for throughout this pregnancy! A normal, healthy little baby! Words can not describe the feelings I had seeing the growing little peanut on that screen today. At one point I looked at Buddy and he was just smiling. Seeing him smile at our little baby made me realize that this truly is the beginning of a life changing amazing experience! A friend called me after our appointment and said, "God is good." That truly sums it all up!

Big News!!!!

On Monday Buddy and I went to the doctor to hear our growing little baby's heart beat. It was soooo amazing! It's hard to imagine that another little person is growing inside of me. Hearing the heart beat just confirms that it can really happen! With each growing day I am reminded of how blessed we are to be apart of such a miracle created by God! I am so thankful and can not wait for the future that has been created for us! We haven't met our little one yet, but we already love him or her so much! Stay posted for pics of our ultrasound in 2 weeks! Here is a video that Buddy took while the nurse found the heart beat. If you listen really closely you should be able to hear it :) It's weird because part of me wanted to freak out and say omg!!! But, I felt like I had to stay so still or I would mess it up... Please ignore the wonderful outfit... I wasn't originally planning on posting the video but Buddy thought it would be neat to share!

Here we are! I have noticed that a lot of our friends have or are starting blogs and I thought it was a fun way to stay connected! So I joined us.

We have been married for a little over 10 months now and I can truly say that marriage is a wonderful blessing! We enjoy spending a lot of time with friends and family, and our dog Layla. Buddy is still working for his dad's company Sunset Pools, and spends much of his free time on the baseball field either coaching or playing. I am still teaching first grade at La Mirada Heights Christian School. I have been so blessed by my co-workers there. They are great people that love the Lord, and I have made many good friends!

We are currently living in Orange which is nice because it's the city that both of us grew up in and our parents are about 10 minutes away. Yes, we do think that is a good thing! I know some people may say otherwise. We bought our home and closed escrow about two weeks before our wedding. It was an exciting and very busy time as you can imagine. I was so impressed with everything Buddy and his dad were able to do in those two weeks, with the help of many friends and family members of course! We took down walls, painted, put in carpet, put in kitchen cabinets and new appliances. Which instantly gave it a major face lift but we are still working on other details.
